Riki Lindhome - Soho Theatre

Every woman needs to watch this show! Incredible female strength, raw emotion and a reminder that a fertility journey is different for everyone. Optimism is so important!

Trigger warning: This show is about fertility and can be triggering. It is shown in a very lighthearted way, with so much optimism.

In life, your path is decided for you, and you have no control over what happens. Last Friday, I felt like I was supposed to watch this show and be inspired by Riki Lindhome's story. It's a story of love, determination, and a display of the strength that women have.

'Dead Inside', do not let the synopsis or the name mislead you, this show covers some heavy themes, but is presented so light and beautifully. Riki Lindhome is the most wholesome, wonderful and bright human, and her vibrance is infectious. The show is a musical journey about fertility, it's a personal story, and there are so many touching, emotional and real moments. If you are a fan of Garfunkel and Oates, then you are going to love this show. What a story! It's hard not to cry at this show or feel a personal connection to Lindhome. The musical moments and use of tech create this Disney/animated tone to the show and make it almost magical. It's a female empowering story and will inspire you. It proves the strength that women carry and how hard/far we ladies will go to get the life we have longed for and deserve. It's an important show to see.

It's a 70-minute piece and is the perfect amount for a one-person show that covers such a heavy topic. It's hard to stay quiet during the show, and the audience is encouraged to react/get involved with moments. It almost feels like a musical TED Talk. This is such an important show to watch, because it reminds you that every person has a different journey, whether it is long or short; we all can get to that moment filled with joy that we long for, whether it's a fertility journey or anything else. Such a thought-provoking piece of theatre, with hilarious songs and so much heart!

The experience of this show is a treasure, and I am so grateful that I got to see it, because at the time, I felt I needed to see it! This is a rare piece of work. Riki Lindhome has created and starred in something genuinely wonderful and inspiring. What a show! I just wanted to get up and hug her. Such a story.
