ATTENTION! A FANTASTIC AND IMPORTANT SHOW THAT YOU MUST WATCH. How can being a young star in a popular TV show harm your career as an actress? A question that is answered in depth in this 70-minute show. There is not one second that you aren't fixed on the unveiling of this story. Megan Prescott has thrown herself into this heartbreaking show that is based on a mix of her own and others' experiences in the acting industry as a female. It's such a brave and raw piece of theatre, coming from a personal place, and it will leave you thinking. It's an uncomfortable show, and the techniques used to make you feel this way are incredible. This is a must-see, because the way it is delivered to the audience, the themes and topics attacked in this show are something that needs to continue changing, for the better!

Prescott is a powerhouse of an actress and an evident force of nature as a person. Her acting is bold, open, and her delivery is naturalistic. Her message is crystal clear. She is a powerful performer; she delivers each line with clear intention and moves with purpose. The way she develops her voice throughout the piece shows how in control of her articulation she is. When she plays a child and performs scenes for auditions, it is clear how uncomfortable she is with what is going on and what is asked of her, but she is clearly doing it so she can show how her character is determined to kickstart her career. The way she performs is naturalistic. There is a moment she goes to pick up her script, and it seems like she has forgotten her lines, when in actuality, she is playing her character looking through her audition material. Prescott is unapologetically herself, and it is inspirational to watch her perform this piece.

In terms of the set, it is very basic. Just a black box theatre, boxes and a chair. However, the main focus is the character's story, and you wouldn't want to divert any of the attention from this. There is nothing to distract the audience's attention. The voice-over used shows how her character is controlled by the industry, and they are like a higher power that she can't predict. They contact her, she can't contact them. There is a use of a projector to show 'flesh tube', which is used to section the show; it helps it flow. The projector is also used to show how she is bombarded by her internet presence, and she can't shut it out, wherever she hides. The way she presents the social media aspect is not too overpowering for the audience, as sometimes this can be disengaging, as in recent theatre, it is overdone.

This show is a MUST-SEE. Prescott is an underrated performer and deserves so much recognition, not only for her performance but also for her writing. She is clearly a creative, growing talent who will thrive! What a brave piece of work, and it deserves all performances to have a standing ovation! This is an important topic and delivered by someone telling some of her own truth! Prescott is one to watch. You really NEED to get yourself to Soho Theatre to see this show!
