Sh!tfaced Shakespeare's wildest show yet! Hear ye, hear ye: this is THE show to watch for a brilliant night. It's exactly how Shakespeare wanted his work shown, probably.

How can you tell who the drunk character is? Oh, believe me, YOU KNOW. The night I went to see the show Romeo, played by Aaron Phinehas Peters, and after a mixture of beers and half a bottle of tequila, Josh Bryant Jones, who kept the show going and ensured the chaos didn't go too far... had his work cut out for him. If you are looking for a traditional piece of Shakespeare, this is not the show that will accurately tell you the story, but I promise you a better time. No night is ever the same, and the actors just go along with the mayhem. It's clever, it's improv at its finest, and this is the height of British humour, paired best with a stiff drink.

There has been no Sh!tfaced Shakespeare show that hasn't knocked my socks off and left me in stitches. Aaron Phinehas Peters was so unpredictable and wacky that this short show didn't stop entertaining the audience for one second. What a crazy drunk actor. Would you be able to remember your lines after half a bottle of tequila? It's impressive how each member of the cast kept the show going, dealt with all the unexpected events and did not break character. Even when Romeo started stripping mid-scene, the cast just went with it, and they brought back references and jokes from previous scenes; it's impressive and crazy. That's the beauty of this show. Juliet, played by Stephanie Simpson, brought joy to the audience's faces; her charm and energy matched Romeo, played by Aaron Phinehas Peters, and was electric, and there were so many beautiful moments. But a special mention to a standout performer, John Mitton, who played the father of the Capulet's and Tybalt; you looked forward to his scenes because his quick wit and ability to make comedy out of everything were incredible. He had so much energy!

The scenery used to create the environment was really well done! Josh Bryant Jones gave audience members instruments to choose when to give the drunk actor MORE ALCOHOL. This gets the audience members involved, helping to elevate the comedy. Even without more alcohol, I think Aaron Phinehas Peters was intoxicated enough! It would be intriguing to know how his head was the next morning. They used many visual bits of scenery to create the location, such as vines and a stand that looked like the side of a castle for the famous 'Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?' and this was really effective and beautiful... even when Romeo started knocking the bushes over and playing with them. It is very minimal, but the content creates the scene, and your whole focus is on the actors on stage. There are so many fun moments where the actors come out from behind the curtains or play with the curtains. Romeo was pushing a sword in and out of the curtains as they were trying to close Act 1; this moment was silly and hilarious. A perfect way to get the audience excited for Act 2.

It's impossible not to find a moment in this show to make you cry with laughter. It's a show for everyone and the perfect way to start a night out. This show is just as enjoyable sober, watching the chaos unfold and also with a drink to join in and get immersed in the comedy. I would argue everyone will enjoy this show, but I suppose if you are a classical theatre lover, this perhaps may not be your cup of tea, unless you enjoy changes in the classical piece and deviation from the script. It's worth the watch, and whilst it is on tour, it will be somewhere near you! I highly urge you not to miss this one and take all your friends and family; this show is so impressive and hilarious! You could watch it a thousand times and no performance would be the same. This is Sh!tfaced Shakespeare's best piece of work and showcases the high-quality performers who are a part of the show; they can deal with anything and stay in character. What a show!
