Let's welcome the 13th cast for Mischief's 'Play That Goes Wrong' on the West End, and what a cast of comic timing angels indeed!

Can you believe this is their 13th cast? Quite lucky for us, as there is such a beautiful range of performers who have their comic timing and silliness down to an art! It's worth going to see this show every time they change up the cast, because they bring something different to each role, so it's like watching the show for the first time. This show hasn't lasted this long at the Duchess for no reason; it's quite the spectacle, and the set is a piece of art. It's impossible not to love this show; there's something in there for everyone. The play may go wrong, but they do everything right for the audience.
Let's talk about our new cast, then shall we? One of my first encounters with any of the cast members, because they have the pre-show, was with Ruby Ablett, who plays 'Annie'; she brings such a lovable innocence to the role, and the power struggle between her and Lucinda Turner, who plays 'Sandra', is so fun. The role of 'Sandra' is one of my favourites, it's funny because it shows how headstrong and put together this character is, but how she's not afraid to get down and dirty if someone is coming for her spotlight. Turner shows the difference between the character in the murder mystery and the character playing the role well, and it's hilarious to watch. Joshua Lendon is one of the most lovable cast members, his performance of 'Max' is so wholesome and so funny that it makes your tummy hurt. Every time he enters the stage, he brings energy and light! Ralph Bushay plays 'Robert' and how he uses his strength to ensure the mishaps are as realistic as possible, and shows the anger/frustration whilst trying not to get out of character, is fabulous. Matthew Spencer plays 'Chris', and his character tries to keep the audience in line, and his moments with the audience, where he has little tantrums, are such an iconic part of the show, a great connection with the audience. The role of 'Trevor' is an audience favourite, and Kieron Michael does a great job of making the gags realistic and bringing some realism to the role. Luke Wilson plays the most fun role of 'Johnathan', who is the most active dead character ever. It brings so much comedy, and his comic timing is the best I've seen! He always delivers his moments at the best times! Lastly, there is Alex Bird as 'Dennis', who is the character that gets moments wrong and forgets lines, and the audience feels bad for him. He shows the character's frustration and disappointment in himself so well that you want to protect him at all costs.
In a nutshell, you CANNOT miss out on this cast! They bring something new to the roles and preserve the love the West End has for this show. It's silly, it's funny, and it's just something light-hearted to lift your spirits. Every time you see it, you are reminded of how fantastic it is and being able to revisit your favourite gags and discover new ones is a treat. This cast is worth seeing, and they bring something new to the roles, but also work incredibly well together as a unit to ensure this show goes as (planned) chaotic as possible. The only thing wrong about this show is the wrongness that is written in. What a cast! Welcome and congratulations to our new performers, and I'm sure all the understudies do just as well! You're in safe hands with the 13th cast! This play may go wrong, but it never gets old.
