Vaudeville Theatre

They didn't go platinum for being mid; this show is the QUEEN of theatre. Welcome to the Queendom, our hard-working new cast. If only it were possible to give a star per queen.

Let's keep this short and sweet, because we all know this show is inspiring, female empowering and groundbreaking.
There was NO WAY we were going to give this less than 5 stars, I think we can all agree they are indeed a TEN amongst these threes. Lucy Moss and Toby Marlow have crafted a show that has given so much power and personality to each of the notorious Henry VIII's SIX wives. Why is this so special? It's all in the lyrics, isn't it? Before, they were 'Just one word in a stupid rhyme' , and now these women have been given justice and a voice. Let's be honest, they deserved to be remembered! They had to put up with the worst kind of man... a royal one. It is indeed HERstory and not HISstory. This show has captured the hearts of theatre lovers all over the globe and welcomed more newbies to the world of theatre in the most fun and inspiring way. It's the kind of modern show that also educates, whilst being catchy and enjoyable. ANYWAY... we have welcomed SIX new queens to the throne, and that is what you're all here for, isn't it?

Well, it's a brilliant mix of talented women, what a fabulous casting. It's a joy to see what they have brought to each queen, how they paint the character, and they do paint them with more glory than Hans Holbein ever could. Some mighty vocals indeed. Each performer brings something different, and it's impossible to pick a favourite, which is the whole point of the show! Let's talk about each queen in order: Catherine of Aragon is played by Titanique swing star Adrianne Langley. She has power, not only in her acting but in her voice; her vocals pack a punch. The sassy and sweet Anne Boleyn is played by Marisha Morgan. This angel brings a pocket full of energy, character and fun riffs. The diva that changes the pace, Jane Seymour, completely holds the show in the palm of her hand for her heart of stone moment. making the audience gasp at her emotion and vocal technique that reaches this magical climactic moment at the end of her song. Anne of Cleves is the girl we all want to be; her character is addictive, and the way she performs is so enjoyable to watch. This girl eats her performance and leaves NO CRUMBS. Katherine Howard is played by a SIX expert, Leesa Tulley; she knows this show like the back of her hand, and she makes Howard her own. The way she picks up her voice and throws the most incredible notes at the audience, there is not one moment that is well controlled; she's enchanting and marvellous. The queen that unites everyone, Catherine Parr, is played by Nia Stephen. She also changes the pace, but in a way that draws the other queens and the audience into her. She accepts her challenge and changes the game with her character. She is lovable, vibrant and is a bright, shiny performer!
The performers are strong and inspiring ladies who remind the audience to be true to who they are and not let anyone dim their sparkle. It was such a wholesome performance, because after the show, it was announced that the album is now PLATINUM, and it's amazing that the message of SIX translates just as clearly in every language. The show seems to grow and grow; its power never seems to fade or dim. Long may SIX reign on, but also bring theatre audiences the freshest, most diverse and marvellous range of performers that not only give a powerful performance, but also ignite inspiration in the young minds that also sit in the huge audiences. It is so wholesome how this show has welcomed new, young theatre audiences; it's always so heart-warming to see the young fans dressing as their favourite queens. Lucy Moss and Toby Marlow have really created something magical, but every single person who works on the show keeps the spark alive and bright. What a show!
I could carry on writing... BUT you and I both know that the show deserves SIX stars. So, if you haven't seen this new cast... WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!
